Fashion Accessories Made From Upcycled Leather
by: design milk, 2015-04-01 18:00:34 UTC
For her masters degree, designer Hollie White created a collection of fashionable accessories that are also sustainable. As part of the launch of her new design studio Ellis White, she designed footwear and accessories made completely from upcycled leather.
White has taken the discarded leather from manufacturing processes and architectural materials and reconstituted them into a stiff, stone-like material. Then, the ‘new’ leather, coined BitLeather, is transformed into shoes, backpacks, footwear, and even eyewear. The collection is characterized by monolithic forms and sculptural elements, creating a strong, architectural presence on the wearer.
Each piece is made to order. For more information, contact Ellis White here.
