Mix and Match Furnishings for a Personalized Room
by: design milk, 2015-03-06 19:00:45 UTC
Bandas Space is a new concept by Spanish designer Patricia Urquiola that lets you create the perfect setup in your home. Designed for GAN, an offshoot of Gandia Blasco, Bandas is made up of modular components, like chairs, poufs, rugs, and pillows, that let you mix and match and design your own space.
All of the individual pieces can be interchanged with their consistent color schemes and patterns running through the line. The chunky embroidery look ties the collection together.
Each of the items comes in various colors too, so you can design really unique compositions.
The entire collection is available for purchase here.

Satellite: An Outdoor Kitchen System
by: design milk, 2015-03-04 14:00:25 UTC
Industrial design students from IED Milan, Riccardo Randi, Riccardo Trabattoni, and Dario Distefano designed an outdoor kitchen system for Italian manufacturer Schiffini as their thesis project. Satellite is made up of a core component with rolling satellite modules that let you easily communicate with your home’s interior.
The system allows various configurations based on what your needs might be that day or just in general when cooking outdoors. Each module is made of bent aluminum sheeting, which makes the product easy and cheap to produce and assemble.
This is the first prototype they made, which just shows one potential configuration. Module designs include: wood ovens, barbecues, gardening, and other cooking and outdoor activities. See renderings below to get an idea of what is possible.
