If you’re fortunate enough to have an employer that lets you bring your bicycle inside, or if you keep your two-wheeled steed in an apartment, then you probably know just how in-the-way its handlebars can be in close quarters. Not only can they poke passers-by, but they also have a tendency to whack into door frames, and they prevent your bike from resting stably against walls. Loosening your handlebar stem and turning the bars parallel with the front wheel, while addressing the problem, is likely more work than most people are interested in doing on a daily basis. With the new flipphandle stem, however, riders can turn their bars sideways with just a press of a button.

This bamboo Ajiro concept bicycle rethinks both our means of transportation and the ways we manufacture our vehicles. Designed by Monash University student Alexander Vittouris, the Ajiro utilizes a production process that removes emissions instead of releasing them into the Earth’s atmosphere. That’s because the bamboo structure of this vehicle is grown straight out of the ground into a preformed mold. Vittouris envisions fields of bamboo gardens growing these human powered bicycles, which need only small modifications once mature to hit the streets.

Daihatsu Motor Co Ltd announced July 19, 2011, that it has developed a technology to realize a fuel efficiency of 30km/L (approx 70.6mpg) under the JC08 test mode.
Besides looking just plain sexy, the Shavit electric sport motorcycle features a very unique riding position system that makes shifting from everyday upright stance to racetrack oriented lean as easy as the push of a button. Handlebars, footpads, and seat height can be adjusted independently, allowing the bike to morph from racing superbike to urban tourer. Emphasizing the lack of a bulky fuel tank, the chassis and body are kept minimal but maintain the sharp, aggressive look of its street racer inspiration.
