I love the fact that Black + Blum use an old japanese technique, to filter water from all stuff the Britta does as well only for 6 months instead of the 1-2 months and in the end there is only a small piece of charcoal in the compost bin. Binchotan active charcoal has been used in Japan as a water purifier since the 17th century. It reduces chlorine, mineralises the water and balances the pH.
I took the bottle with me to the sport studio and got a lot attraction, discussions and compliments because of it.
The bottle itself is robust and made of BPA-free Tritan, the shape holds a dent for the stick and the bottle closed with a cork. An iconic zen-like design.
Over 22 billion plastic water bottles are discarded around the world every year. Black + Blum want to reduce this by making tap water taste better and encourage people to stop buying bottled water. Available since April 2012 for about 18 euro/bottle, which is not cheap but you save not buying bottled water anymore. At the website of B+B you see they designed all other fun and sustainable products
