The Japanese have been riding electric bikes for years. One problem, style was not one of the features. This all changed with Yamaha’s new City-X electric bike. With 20" tyres and a clean designed aluminum frame with hidden cables it looks modern and fresh. No wonder since introducing it last year it is already a hit.
It comes with a 240W engine with a 25km/hr top-speed and the lithium-ion batteries gives it a 23km action radius and charge in 2.5hr. The lights are, of course, LED.
And priced at 900 euro it is 30-40% cheaper than most dutch and german alternative electric bikes. Sounds like a well designed product to me.
