Sustainability Aspects: 60% energy reduction, solar powered remote control, VC and Brominated Flame Retardants free
The Story
Winning the EISA green tv award
The EISA judging panel noted: “In its quest for energy efficiency, the Philips 42PFL6805 reaches an all time low, consuming just 40 Watts in eco-mode. The set demonstrates a holistic approach to eco-design, evident in many details such as the unorthodox product architecture, solar-powered remote control, double-function stand and wallmount and an e-manual. The cherry on the cake is the clever use of a rather small partly recycled aluminium panel which covers all electronics instead of the total back cover that is used by their competition.”
Holistic eco-design
Philips continuously strives to make it simple for consumers to reduce their impact on the environment , particularly in the areas of lowering energy consumption; reducing material usage in production and packaging; reducing the use of hazardous substances; and improving recyclability. In line with this holistic approach, Econova LED TV represents the next step in eco-design.
The eco-design elements:
- Uses the latest LED lighting technology reducing energy consumption by up to 60% – the lowest in its category – whilst delivering best-in-class picture quality. 4oWatt for a 42" screen.
- Zero power switch means that – unlike other TVs on the market – when you switch your TV off, power consumption is reduced to 0 watt.
- Materials that are easy to recycle and have been used before. Even so, Econova LED TV exudes quality thanks to its solid high-quality aluminium housing.
- Solar powered remote control meaning batteries do not need to be replaced or disposed of.
- The unique Philips 2-in-1 stand can be used as a table top stand as well as an easy to install wallmount bracket, bringing convenience to consumers and eliminating unnecessary waste from discarded parts.
- It is PVC and Brominated Flame Retardants free,
- Is designed for easy recycling. Its packaging contains no polystyrene buffers or plastic bags, making it 100% recycleable.
